Madrid, October 16, 2007 .- The Board of Directors of the Association of Victims of Terrorism has decided to hold a demonstration in Madrid due to fraudulent strategy continues to show the Government's policy against terrorism. Following the plenary held today at the Congress of Deputies and the events before, during, and after false "permanent ceasefire" announced by ETA, it is clear that the government is not putting all the means at its disposal to defeat the terrorist.
The attacks by the terrorist group in recent years and the recent statements by José Luis RodrÃguez Zapatero, in which he has said he would not rule out re-negotiate with the murderers, are a clear demonstration of the above.
For this reason, the main requirements of AVT to the Government in this new edition are:
• First: To urge the banning of ANV and PCTV. And immediately dissolve the councils in which ANV rules. These two parties still do not condemn ETA attacks.
Victims outrageous considering that political representatives of the terrorists are in institutions because it assumes, among other things, a betrayal and an insult to those who have been killed and wounded to defend freedom and democracy in Spain. The Government has already committed the grave mistake of allowing the presence of ANV in the last municipal elections and at least, should keep in mind the Law of Parties and rectify its position. Furthermore, it should be noted that the presence of these two parties in the municipalities and the Basque Parliament is a clear risk to the safety of English.
• Second: Remove the resolution passed in the House of Representatives that authorizes the government to dialogue with ETA and retrieve the Pact for Freedom and Against Terrorism.
The Socialist government did not comply with this resolution because it negotiated before and after the ETA cease without weapons, including bombings, deaths and injuries. The attitude of the executive has been a full-blown treason for the victims and all English. It is also necessary to remove it because it ends ETA, it is not convincing. The Executive should be brave and go back to the Pact for Freedom and Against Terrorism, which brought the terrorist group against strings.
The theme of this call is "For a future release. Together, we defeat ETA." English society has the right and need to live in freedom. And it is the duty and responsibility of Government to ensure the necessary measures to defeat those who coerce and blackmail us through murder, extortion and terrorist activity.
The event will be held on Saturday 24 November in Madrid. The AVT requests that all good citizens, victims, communities and civic organizations, endorse this new act of civic rebellion, the foster and spread.
